Launchpad makes inroads into the event management market

Launchpad, which began its journey as an experiential marketing platform has now taken giant strides in the world of event management. A lucrative deal with Yamaha has seen the Launchpad team working actively on events conducted in Ghaziabad, Dehradun, Palwal and Allahabad. In the coming months, the contract signed with Yamaha will see Launchpad conducting events in Panipat, Karnal, Haridwar, Agra, Lucknow, Kanpur, Udaipur, Ludhiana, Patiala and several other towns in the northern plains. The two-day event, “Chaabi gumao, Bike le jao”, is the same in each city. Karan Anand, the current CEO of Launchpad explains the basic premise. “Yamaha finds us a location in each city which is close to one of their dealerships. We start advertising the event a few days in advance by inserting leaflets into the local papers. This has guaranteed us an average footfall of 1500 to 2000 people over two days. On the day of the event, we invite people to register with us for a test drive. The registered player gets a chance to test his luck by having choose from a few keys. If the key manages to turn the bike on, the bike is theirs for free. Apart from the bike, we also offer petrol coupon. If a visitor buys a bike from the local dealer in question within two months of our event, they get a free tank of gas.” When it comes to the daunting task of arranging the logistics for each city, The Launchpad team remains calm and unruffled. Anand and his colleagues ensure that they have with them, in each city, a 30x30 foot shamiana, an emcee and four promoters (who are kept in charge of registering the participants). Anand is pleased with the way the events have been paining out, “this deal has not only helped us get into the events market, but has also enabled us to make contacts in countless towns in the northern region,” he concludes. Nupur Jain, Senior Manager Strategy Planning at Yamaha, is pleased with The Launchpad’s above-average performance. “They (the Launchpad team) understand what we want from an event manager. I’m happy to say that they are consistently meeting with the high standards of Yamaha. They provide us with hassle free coordination and implementation.
